In Japanese, Shiatsu means “finger pressure”. Shiatsu techniques include massages with fingers, thumbs, palms and knees, assisted stretching, and joint rotations. The goal of Shiatsu is to balance the “Qi” in the body. Qi is everywhere, it not only keeps people moving, but the whole universe. Shiatsu supports the free flow of Qi and strengthens the forces in us that always strive for the greatest possible balance, our self-healing powers. Shiatsu gives Qi orientation impulses. This strengthens the body, inspires and relaxes on a deep level and brings us back to our own center.
